Rock Church
Church of San Pietro Barisano
The largest rock church in Matera, entirely carved out of tuff. Inside, there are naves, stone altars, and a hypogeum where the bodies of the deceased were once dried.

Madonna delle Virtù and San Nicola dei Greci Rock Complex
A medieval monastic complex carved into the rock: two rock churches, cave dwellings, and cellars on multiple levels. Today, it also hosts contemporary art exhibitions.
