From grain to pasta: an artisanal workshop in the heart of Matera
Would you like to discover how pasta is truly made, starting with the grain of wheat? In this workshop, I'll guide you step by step through a journey rooted in Matera's rural traditions, which have fed families in the Sassi for generations.
The workshop unfolds in three phases:
1. Transforming wheat into flour with an authentic stone mill, just as it was once done
2. Preparing the dough, using techniques passed down from generation to generation
3. Making different pasta shapes by hand
This isn't just a cooking class: it's a way to experience Matera's culture firsthand, understand where the food we eat comes from, and experience a moment of true conviviality. At the end of the experience, you'll take home the pasta you made with your own hands, along with the memory of an authentic afternoon in Matera.
Perfect for both those who love to cook and those who simply want to experience something authentic, far from the beaten tourist track.
