THE EXPERIENCE
In the heart of the 19th century, in the Matera area, the lack of land to cultivate pushes many unemployed laborers into banditry. Social tension is high, landowners are threatened, and a bandit is wanted. Participants will play families involved in the events, taking part in an investigative and collaborative game in which they can piece together the truth by interacting with the characters.
SYNOPSIS
In June 1862, in a Basilicata region plagued by hunger, banditry, and land struggles, a dark and still unsolved story unfolds near Palazzo Pomarici, in the heart of the Sassi di Matera.
The Masseria della Rifeccia, owned by the noble family, was the scene of a crime rooted in the usurpation of state property and secret alliances between nobility, peasants, and supporters of the Bourbon cause.
The bandit Paolo Serravalle had found refuge here, protected by a network of connivances that linked local families and notables. His sudden killing exposes hidden interests, betrayals, and untold truths.
The Murder Mystery Dinner takes the audience into a story inspired by documents and real events: the conflict between power and poverty, the new liberal ideas that undermine the ancient order, and the secrets of a noble family torn apart by inheritance and scandal.
Between cross-accusations, compromising letters, and broken oaths, the guests are called upon to investigate and reconstruct the real instigators of the murder, discovering how, when the earth divides men, the truth can become a crime.
