Description
The "Cinematic Piano" project, conceived and written by Angelo Nigro, is not your typical film score concert. As the title suggests, the selected compositions feature the piano as the main character. However, they are minimalist in style and rearranged with the addition of the Vertere String Quartet, which plays the lead role alongside the piano. It's a concert that immerses the listener in the sensations of the films. This is because cinematic music shouldn't draw attention to the themes, but should describe and underscore the film. Concertgoers could spend the entire experience with their eyes closed, reliving film scenes or imagining their own scenarios, dictated by the emotions of the moment. The whole experience is enriched by sound design sequences featuring excerpts from original film monologues. The composers (in addition to the original compositions presented in the same style) are not the "usual" ones, even if they are great, but rather a different, more contemporary approach. They range from Zimmer to Richter, from Johannson to Helmersson. Some of the titles include Interstellar, The Theory of Everything, Shutter Island, and Leftlovers.
