Storica Casa Grotta di Vico Solitario

Description
The Vico Solitario Cave House is a typical dwelling carved into the rock of the Sassi of Matera, specifically in the Sasso Caveoso district. It is a single-room cave house, where the family and often pets lived together. Inside, traditional furnishings have been reconstructed: a cooking hearth, a table, a bed, and spaces for storing food. The house also displays a system for collecting rainwater in an underground cistern, essential to daily life. Today, it is a small museum that offers insight into how the inhabitants of the Sassi lived until the 1950s.
