What's hidden under the sand? For one day, children will truly discover it.
In this workshop with Anna Cirasola, young participants dig in a large sandpit in search of hidden artifacts—just like archaeologists do in the field. Each find becomes a moment of shared discovery: what is this object? What was it used for? How did archaeologists clean it, restore it, and preserve it in museums?
The practical part is intertwined with the narrative: children not only dig, but also learn to observe, ask questions, and reason about what they find. History isn't something you read in a book—it's something you touch with your hands and take home.
Each child will create their own handcrafted fossil to take home as a tangible memento of the experience. An object made by them, which tells the story of a day of curiosity, discovery, and creativity.
An educational and engaging workshop, designed to stimulate manual skills, a love of history, and a passion for exploration. Suitable for children aged 5 and up, ideal for families and school groups.
