Slow Food - The Temples of Oil - Olivi Patriarchi

Immerse yourself in the true rural history of Matera through a sensory journey through the scents and flavors of times gone by. Our experience begins with a meeting in front of the school, the starting point for a visit to a charming 19th-century farmhouse and a cave inhabited since the 1600s. We'll stroll together among the estate's olive trees and then recharge with a traditional farmer's breakfast: the famous Matera bread drizzled with our extra virgin olive oil. After exploring the farmhouse's secrets and charm, we'll move to the kitchen to prepare "cialledda," the quintessential peasant dish of the local tradition. We'll end the day with a celebration, eating, singing, and dancing together before saying goodbye. The experience is available in both Italian and English.
