Gezziamoci - SAIHS | Matera City Pass

In the Italian music scene, "Saíhs" is one of the most nationally recognized emerging jazz groups. The sextet, consisting of Matteo Zecchi (tenor sax, soprano sax, and clarinet), Giulio Mari (trumpet), Giulio Tullio (trombone), Lorenzo Fiorentini (piano), Giulio Barsotti (double bass), and Edoardo Battaglia (drums), was formed in Florence in 2023. The ensemble has won First Prizes at the following competitions: Conad Jazz Contest 2025 promoted by the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Perugia Alberto Alberti Prize in 2025, the Chicco Bettinardi Prize promoted by the Piacenza Jazz Fest in February 2024, and the Group Competition organized by the Eddie Lang Jazz Festival in July 2023. The ensemble has also participated in the final stages of the most important Italian jazz band competitions, including the Isio Saba Prize, Barga Jazz Contest, Fara Jazz Contest, Nu Jazz Contest, and Onyx Jazz Contest. The band offers a jazz repertoire of original songs, drawing inspiration from modern and contemporary jazz, as well as arrangements of traditional jazz standards. In July 2025, the group's debut album, "Distopia," was released by GleAM Records. On April 17, 2026, Universal Music released a live EP recorded during the sextet's concert at the Umbria Jazz Winter '25 festival.
