Gezziamoci - JALI BABOU SAHO TRIO

Jali Babou Saho, a Gambian storyteller belonging to the griot caste, uses the captivating sound of the kora and his singing to express his personal vision of the world and life through songs he composed in the traditional Mandinga style of West Africa. The trio is completed by double bass player Nicola Scagliozzi and percussionist Cesare Pastanella, innovative Italian musicians with a strong affinity for African culture, who constantly engage with the sinuous notes of the African harp. The three artists come together to create a dynamic and energetic concert, with intimate and profound moments, characterized by a multi-stylistic interpretation of the Gambian musician's songs. The ancient culture of West Africa and its musical traditions merge with contemporary European and African-American sounds and rhythms.
