2. Description and Scope of the Service
Matera City Pass is a digital platform designed to provide users with access to tourism-related information and services connected to the city of Matera and its surrounding area. The Service may include the sale and management of time-based digital city passes, access to participating cultural sites, discounts offered by partner businesses, QR code–based validation systems, public user reviews, informational content, editorial articles, guides and event listings, as well as dedicated dashboards and tools for partner merchants.
The Service does not provide accommodation, transport, guided tours, catering services or event organisation directly, unless explicitly stated. Matera City Pass acts as a digital facilitator and informational platform and does not replace the services, obligations or responsibilities of third-party partners.
3. Events and Informational Content
Any events, exhibitions, performances, or experiences displayed on the website are published for informational purposes only. Matera City Pass does not manage bookings, reservations, ticket sales, registrations or payments for events or experiences, nor does it act as an intermediary or agent for organisers.
Users who choose to attend events or experiences do so independently and at their own discretion. Any interaction with organisers, venues or third parties is governed exclusively by the terms, conditions and policies of those parties, and Matera City Pass bears no responsibility for changes, cancellations, availability, pricing, or service quality.
4. Eligibility and Access to the Service
Access to and use of the Service is limited to individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old and who have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under applicable law. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
Certain features of the Service may require the creation of a personal account. We reserve the right to restrict or deny access to the Service to any user who does not meet eligibility requirements or who violates these Terms.
5. User Accounts and Security
When registering an account, you agree to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. You are responsible for ensuring that your account details remain correct over time.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities carried out through your account, whether authorised by you or not. Matera City Pass shall not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised access to your account where this is due to your failure to safeguard your credentials.
You must notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any security breach.
6. Digital Passes and Duration
Matera City Pass offers digital passes with fixed durations of 24, 48 or 72 hours, as specified at the time of purchase or redemption. A pass grants access to benefits and discounts provided by participating partners during its validity period.
The validity period of a pass begins from the moment of first activation or first use, and not from the date of purchase. Where applicable, activation must be carried out manually by the user through their account or designated interface.
Only one pass may be active per user account at any given time. Promotional or complimentary passes may be issued through specific codes and are subject to the conditions communicated at the time of issuance.
7. QR Code Validation System
Access to pass benefits is managed through a QR code validation system. QR codes are generated uniquely for each user and are dynamic, refreshing periodically for security and anti-fraud purposes.
QR codes may only be used by the account holder and strictly in accordance with the applicable pass rules. Any attempt to copy, share, alter, reuse, or otherwise misuse QR codes or pass entitlements constitutes a material breach of these Terms.
Matera City Pass reserves the right to suspend or deactivate passes and accounts in cases of suspected fraud, abuse or misuse, without refund.
8. Pricing, Payments and Transaction Processing
Prices for passes and any paid services are displayed on the website and may be updated from time to time. All payments are processed through secure third-party payment service providers, including Stripe.
Matera City Pass does not store complete payment card details. Payment confirmation, receipts and invoices are generated in accordance with the policies of the payment provider and applicable legal requirements.
Any technical issues, delays or failures related to payment processing that are attributable to third-party providers are outside the direct control of Matera City Pass.
9. Refunds and Right of Withdrawal
Digital passes are generally non-refundable once activated or used, due to their digital nature and immediate availability. If a pass has not been activated, refunds may be granted only where required by applicable consumer protection laws or where explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
As Matera City Pass does not manage bookings or sales for events or third-party services, it does not issue refunds for services provided by partners or organisers. Any refund requests related to third-party services must be addressed directly to the relevant provider.
10. Partner Services and Availability
Access to museums, cultural sites, discounts and benefits offered through the pass is subject to the availability, opening hours, capacity limits and conditions set by participating partners. These conditions may change without notice.
Matera City Pass does not guarantee uninterrupted access to partner services and shall not be responsible for closures, delays, capacity restrictions, changes in conditions or service quality attributable to third parties.
11. Intellectual Property Rights
All content made available through the Service, including text, images, logos, trademarks, graphics, layouts, databases, and software, is the property of Matera City Pass Ltd or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

12. User Conduct and Prohibited Uses
Users agree to use the Service lawfully and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws, infringes the rights of others, interferes with the operation or security of the platform, or introduces harmful code or malicious activity.
Any misuse of the Service, including fraudulent behaviour, abusive conduct or attempts to circumvent technical safeguards, may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties, whether express or implied, are excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Matera City Pass Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where such limitation or exclusion would be unlawful.
15. Suspension and Termination
Matera City Pass reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service, in whole or in part, at its discretion, where a user breaches these Terms, misuses the Service, or where suspension or termination is necessary for legal, security or operational reasons.
Termination does not affect rights or obligations accrued prior to termination.
16. Amendments to the Terms
We may update or modify these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page and will take effect from the date indicated. Continued use of the Service following publication of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
